Meet the Founders

Through different backgrounds, our founders have well-rounded knowledge of live illustration, scribing and graphic recording, and how to use it to maximum effect.

Abigail Burch

Hi, I’m Abbie, I’m a Live Illustrator based in London with a passion (and knack) for turning complex stuff into clear, visual stories people actually want to look at.

Over the past 10 years, I’ve had the pleasure of working with hundreds of clients, including the UN Foundation, Waitrose, UCL, TEDx, Bupa, the NHS, and GSK. I also regularly support in-house events as a consultant for PwC, KPMG, and EY.

Whoever I’m scribing for, I tailor my work to suit the tone and context of the session. And while I have a background in Illustration and Graphic Design, my real skill lies in listening, connecting, and synthesising messages into visuals that are clear, engaging, and hard to forget.

Whether I’m furiously scribbling live in the corner of a conference room or sketching from the studio during a virtual event, I help teams, speakers, and organisations capture the heart of what’s being said.

Tom Hoskin

I’ve spent 15 years advising businesses all the way from global listed companies through to innovative startups. Starting out at PwC and then running my own Innovation Advisory firm, GrowthBuilders, I was first introduced to live illustration as a workshop participant and quickly realised the powerful benefits.

It was a no brainer to use it when organising interactive and engaging sessions for my own clients.

Through The Scribing Spot, it’s exciting to share access and knowledge of how using live illustration is hugely impactful to the positive outcome of events, workshops and more.

It's such a brilliant way to put smiles on people's faces, make them feel heard, focus group thoughts and ultimately produce memorable, easily digestible content that can be used and consumed in so many different ways!
