Scribing / Graphic Recording / Live Illustration / Visual Notes. It’s got many names but it all refers to the visual capture of ideas, conversations, and key messages in real-time during events, talks, and workshops. Think of it as visual note-taking, but much more engaging.

We can do both -  whatever works best for you and your event. In person, we can scribe on whiteboards or large foam core sheets, either front and centre or tucked off to the side.  Remotely, we can join via video call and share the live illustration from our iPad directly to your screen - ideal for virtual, hybrid, or international events (or when there just isn’t space for us on-site).

We join your event via video call from our studio and share our iPad screen as we draw. You can show the illustration live during the session, or keep it hidden and share it afterwards as a surprise, ta-dah!

They sure can and we actually encourage it for the wow factor. You’ll just need to decide whether this is shared live or the finished product is shown at the end or during a break etc. We’ll walk you through all the options and how to maximise the impact of digital illustrations.

The longer you give us, the more time we have to make sure we deliver the absolute best experience for your audience. Some things like large scale illustrations and murals do often need months of preparation, but if you’ve got something last minute then get in touch. The beauty of digital illustration is that we can get going with very little prep time so it’s always worth having a chat. 

We'll arrange a quick briefing call to cover:

Context – What the event is about, who’s speaking, and any goals or themes

Agenda – What’s happening when, and what you’d like captured

Content – Any useful reading or prep ahead of the day

Branding – Logos, colours, or any visual guidelines we should follow

We will always establish this with you beforehand but usually we’ll require a station/table for the illustrator to be based at, access to food and drink and an up to date programme with timings is also very useful. 

Within 24 hours of the event, you’ll receive cleaned-up, high-resolution files (usually in jpg format), ready to share, print, or repurpose.

We give ourselves 24 hours because after the busyness of a full day of live illustration we like to take the time in post-production, with fresh eyes, to make sure everything’s as strong as it can possibly be - no spelling mistakes or wonky looking hands etc. And if we’ve been drawing on physical boards, then we need some time in post-production, to turn the scribe from a photo into a shiny, cleaned up, digital file.

If you do need a version to send out straight away though, just let us know so we can incorporate this into our plan and we can get them to you pronto. Digital scribing is great for a speedy turnaround.

Absolutely. You’ll receive a license to use the visuals in agreed formats - like internal comms, social media, presentations, or reports. If you’d like to adapt them further (for example, into animations or campaign materials), we’ll sort out permissions and credit beforehand.

No problemo! We work with a trusted network of experienced scribes, so we can support multi-room, multi-day, or high-scale events while keeping everything visually consistent.

Absolutely! We regularly sign NDAs where required plus we’ll make sure we’re clear on what can and can’t be shared in the contract.

Our headquarters are based in London, but we work all over the UK, and in fact the world. 

Yes! In fact, apart from drawing for a living, it’s one of the perks of the job. We’ve currently scribed in 16 countries and counting, so wherever you are in the world we can get a live illustrator to you. And those rare occasions where we can’t, we can join virtually.

Both! Everything we do is hand-drawn, it just depends whether we are doing it with an inky pen, or a digital stylus on a tablet, and that will be decided by whether you go for a digital approach or on a physical board in the space. 

Absolutely! We have a large network of illustrators, all with their own style and illustration “handwriting” if you will. So if you’ve got a particular vibe or look in mind, get in touch (ideally with some examples) and we’ll be able to match you with the perfect illustrator.
